new things
much has happened since i bloggegd in last
i jam with friends every other week but i cannot seem to find a band.
i am a good player.i need money but there are no working classic rock bands that seem to want me.or i have not found one yet i guess,.
its all for the money anyways.
i do have new originals out and im happy with how they have been received online.
i did a ep with one rockabilly song using sal on drums and then i wrote an r and b song for julie and put that out too.strange gal..its not half bad!
many new songs and the new cd is out too.
but i dont seem to have a direction yet.
god will use me as he seesfitbut he hasnt been telling me why or how yet and i am in a slump!
so many bad muscians out there and all the good ones wanna do is jam and not let enyone new in.so thats me.i threw out my bed so i could get my drums set up in here all the time so i have played more now.
but thats all.
i never hear from anyone not even my brother!

new project
did a rockabilly song this week with sal on drums and me playing everything else.i wrote it and it is the first rockabilly song i ever wrote believe it or not!
i think i may do a one shot deal and let out a rockabilly album.why not?
its fun music especially on guitar.what have i got to loose?
other than that i am in chapter seven and life aint too bad.adios for now.i dont think anyone ever reads this anyways!

im back!
during the past month or so things have been crazy!
one thing happens and then falls and then another thing happens and its good.what can i say?
the new cd is selling good.'seconds" seems to be what people who bought my last cd are wanting.
i dont know why.maybe because its more simple to them?
who knows?
i also have a tune coming out soon that was recorded with my old band but never was for sale.
this was a song that i wrote the words for and was my first christian lyrics.
they blocked any sales so i wouldnt get royalties.after a long talk with my lawyer i was told i had every right to reissue it under my name as long as i was willing to give the guy who wrote the music any compensation for his music.as he wrote the music to it.
as long as nobody asks i wont tell.
i am fully within my rights to do this and i am doing it.i am 100 percent positive and i am within the law to do so.they were not within the law to withold anything from me and i have an exellent case should they start anything ,but i dont think they will ..
but its a beautifull song and may get peoople to christ!
its called just pray and im elated to see it finally coming out as it shoud have so long ago!
other than that i have no plans for any new christian music.i have to let the dust settle.
as for any bands it all fell through.my stuff is simply too hard to learn for people and they get scared off.
i want to just sit back and sing it.
i play all the instruments on everyhting on the albums but when it comes to live performances i am the lead singer and to get two or three guitarists and a bass player to play it is very hard.i have auditioned so many people these days and i am tired of it.
they play it and then they cannot play it.
or they do not leaen it right.
i do have a good drummer and i have a decent lead gutarist but thats just not enough to go out there.ronnie vanzandt would always play his songs or record them for his bandmates and they would all learn them and add what they had to add or if he said keep them as is thats what would be.
here in gloriose rhode island thats hard to find.
most plaers here are stuck meaning they can only do repetitiose playing.they are with each other in bands and cannot or are simply unwilling to step out and try anything new to them.
id have to move or travel to get what i need and im not in a position to do that right now so im letting the dust settle and wherever god needs me he will know.thats all for now.i hope you all like the music i have done and enjoy it!

and remember theres more than just i tunes and rhapsody.theres a bunch of online stores out there.look through them all.im on amazon.i am all over the place spreading gods word wich is why i am releasing anything to begin with.cheers!

wellness
wellness is important.to be well you have to be well inside.for me to be well is to know that regardless of what people think of my work or what i say or how i say it,its me.its how i am.
they must make a choice.accept it or deny it.
i am one with christ.i make mistakes and we all do.
recently a friend who i shall not name said i would like to hear your new album.i said sure have a copy!
i said you may not like it.
she said "there has to be some thig on it i will like!"
i was kind of silly and i said welp..you win the race"
she said what race?
i told her i had another friend that said"dont expect me to like it"
she was perplexed and asked why wouldnt he like it?
i said i dont know.he has not heard it yet!
she said he was a blockhead and was not a true friend then.
i said he is indeed a true friend and yes he is indeed a true blockhead too.
why would anyone close thier minds so badly that they would tell you they would not like something prior to hearing it?
the devil.
he puts blinders on people!
especially if the person could be usefull to the other person.
now i dont expect that friend to like my cds at all.if he said he liked it id gag.
he will not like it.no matter what he really feels inside he wont give it a chance.he wont probably even bother playing it and will just tell me he doesnt like it anyway.
why would i be friends with a person like that?
because he has served me in other ways.his ignorance is bliss..well..not bliss.stupidity.
but his ignorance is not his fault.
his blinders will keep him from liking a cd he probably would have enjoyed.

he said why did you buy that!???

he said all brian wilson ever wrote were bad car and surf songs and sloop john b is on that.its crap..put it back.
i said"havent you ever heard 'god only knows?
it came out ten years ago!"
by then i assumed nobody in the world had missed such a gem
but somhow my brother who was extreemly versed im music had indeed missed it..or if he had heard it he had never really played pet sounds.
i said im buying it.
its 3 bucks man.its near mint and better yet its mono!
so i bought it and took the train home to rhode island.when i played it i suddenly had the misgivings my brother may have been correct because there were only three songs on it i liked!
but the next day i played it again! and again..and by the end of the week i could truly understand what brian wilson was trying to show us.
that he COULD do an lp of non surf or car songs and an album about his deepest inner feelings.i love that lp.to this day along with billions of others,pet sounds is one of my favorite albums.
but back then nobody liked it.
my point is this.before you go giving somone a narrowminded reply or you claim something is crap..open you mind..open your ears!
if brian wilson had listened to the other beach boys and the fans "god only knows" wouldnt have come out" and man what a song nobody would have heard
people need to open thier minds and ears and stop playing god with peoples music.justin timberlake seems to be as far as anyone will go these days.or maybe they find one christian band and they whorship that one band(thinking they are really whoreshipping god) and even worse they may have closed thier ears for good which is a sin.

i play christian folk rock music,.

How did you begin making music? Who introduced you?
at age 4 my cousin dropped off a drumet at our home.immediately loved it and began playing it.it wasn't until a few years ago that i self taught myself guitar and bass and then keyboards and vocals.
What was your musical education?
from 1971 to 1973 i took jazz drum lessons,i have had no other formal training!
When did you realise that making music could be a way of life for you?
the second i started playing with a rolling stones lp in 1967
What is your creative process?
i write words..i write them quickly! then i write a melody to them.then i plug in the guitar and record a track to them. i sing whatever comes to mind. then i pus on bass and drums.its done!sounds much easier than it really is
When do you have your most lucid moments, in the morning or night?
usually nite but it can occur anytime.
Have you ever awoken with a melody created from your dreams?
yes..definatly!
How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes?
thats my biggest problem.i never know,and i tent to overdo my mixes!
How did you discover your creative territory? How would you describe it?
i just discovered it when it discovered me.it was a mutual bonding.
What part of your job is your least favourite?
having to redo a vocal line over and over again or a bass line over and over again.i dont mind guitar or drums ,but i cant stand redoing a vocal line over three takes and a guitar line over three takes means its a new song
How often do you practice?
every breath i take is a rehersal....
How do you feel right before going out on stage?

that's a hard one to answer.if you were to ask what ones were NOT inspiring it i could be here all nite. id have to say Neil young still moves me.what a guy! i wish kurt kobain was still here,he influenced my writing allot. just a hard question to answer. i still love the older guys because they knew so much back then. as of now i can only give kudos to the black crowes an the folk artists who are out there still.i wish i could give you more but i cant stand whats out there now on the pop scene.i hate it,.its cooperate trash.

another hard one.why three??? ok here goes! "HEY JUDE" "PLEASE LET ME WONDER" BY BRIAN WILSON "WISHING" BY BUDDY HOLLY" but its an unfair question as i have to leave out all the jump blues,pre war blues ,jazz and garage rock!

stop making music do damned expensive!
What type of music do you detest?
rap and alternative bullshit.also the chick in the front bands who have no talent.i wont mention any names.see?? im very diplomatic!

How do you sell yourself? What has been your experience with record companies and representatives?
my problem is that i can only sell online.i don't have any way to get to a record company.i know if i did id sell,so you tell me how.it sucks,.its hard and there are thousands of independent companies out there including mine which is simply a mom and pop operation to keep afloat.and then when it happens what do you do?do yo trust and immediate sign? or do you say lemme think this over? if you answer the latter you wont get another chance.its so hard now.one han d theres a million artists like in the early 60s but there's no brill building to house them now. its painfull to see so many BAD and terrible artists get signed while there thousand of us out here who want a chance to be heard and signed.come and get us! we need you pr men.

i have never done that.i have always admired guys and gals who have done that but i have never done it.i have heard bruce springstein did it.you will have to ask him!

just have fun .it is always fun when you start ,and then the i wanna make it stuff creeps in.and then bands break up over the ego stuff. if you can keep it all stress free and FUN you may succeed.you never know who will knock on the door. i am 47 and i have had many close calls but hate and unhappiness always ruined it. so keep it fun.im back there again now.i like it again and im never going to let anything get me off track again. so enjoy every performance. and if you ever get a performance where promoter is a grouch and is yelling at you because you are late or because hes doped or whatever.picture him with donkey ears man.dont ever let anyone take what god has given you away.its a gift and its a big one.god bless you no matter what kind of music you do.if you like it and you are playing free but you are happy on stage..its good!@!!!!
